А я думаю, что эти книги неадаптированные. На серии написано Reading level: Ages 4 and up. Этот уровень не соответствует адаптированным книгам. Эта серия уровня Intermediate и Pre-intermediate.
А я думаю, что эта серия, так же как Harcourt Leveled Readers /files/languages/english/audiobooks/harcourt/ должна бы находиться в разделе English for Native Speakers (Английский язык для англоязычных). Потому что и словарь отличается - так же как буквари отличаются от учебников русского языка для иностранцев - и содержание - или для детей, которые только учатся читать или недавно научились, или для иностранцев, уже давно умеющих читать на родном языке, но не знают и никогда не узнают слов, которые знает каждый ребенок типа Бяка-Коряка-Сорока-Ворона-Коза-Дереза :-)
Словарей в этих книгах нет. Они отличаются от адаптированных только тем, что часто не имеют уровней. Я пытаюсь понять, почему вы разделили английские книги для русских и для англоязычных. Если ребенок не знает перевода слова коза-дереза – это означает что у него плохой словарь в компьютере.
Иностранный ребенок вовсе не должен знать слова бяка и каляка, а должен бы знать другие, более важные слова.Не зря авторы сочиняют или адаптируют книги, а издательства издают их специально для изучающих английский язык как иностранный. Тоже могли бы сказать: Читали бы обычные книги на английском с хорошими словарями! Но нет - тратят на них время, бумагу, деньги, на специальные книги для изучающих английский язык как иностранный.И издают специальные книги для англоязычных детей, которые учатся читать.Мало того, есть еще и специальные методики, и теории, и обширная литература по двум этим разным областям, по обучению родному языку и чтению и письму на нем, и по обучению иностранным языкам.Так что должен быть смысл в разделении литературы для русско- и для англоязычных детей. Не мы это разделение придумали.
Но зачастую на книгах не указано адаптированная она или нет и если вы разделяете эти понятия, как адаптированная и English for Native Speakers то почему в адаптированном разделе немало книг неадаптированных? А аудио серия Harcourt имеет 6 уровней и очень похожа на адаптированную находится в неадаптированном разделе?
Я уже нашел. Весь этот раздел должен быть вообще расформирован ибо он - ни что иное, чем плод Вашего воображения. Но доказывать Вам это - затея глупая и бесполезная. И переносить, естественно, я ничего не буду.

Итак:Если читатель в пять лет не знает значения слова "коза-дереза" - это одно.Если читатель не знает значения слова "коза-дереза" в 9 лет - то другое.Если абитуриент (17-30лет, редко старше) не исполняет тест на основе романа Диккенса на экзамене по английской словесности - значит, ему на отделении языка и литературоведения делать нечего.Если неноситель языка (любая возрастная группа) не знает, как написать фамилию Диккенса на неродном языке -это одно.Если взрослый носитель языка читает по слогам - то он, скорее всего, - даун.Теперь понятнее?
Я не говорю, что не согласна с тем, что практикуется много лет. Просто есть некоторые детали, на которые имею свой взгляд. 1. Например, не согласна по поводу размещения Harcourt. 2. Неадаптированные книги обычно не разделяются на уровни, но все же если это серия, как например Disney read-along, то все равно в какой-то степени серия адаптированная. Потому что есть книги для продвинутых, и также есть книги, где речь простая и медленная - для малышей (я их на сайт еще не скинула). Наверное по этой причине этой серии везде хорошо, лишь бы читатели ее легко находили.

Для меня открытие. Оказывается неадаптированная литература только для семилеток. Скорее всего, это ‘испорченный телефон’. Не стоит на него терять свое драгоценное время. А первоначальный вопрос был в том что Harcourt американцы может и адаптировали для американцев и все же эта серия адаптированная почему она в разделе Английский язык для англоязычных. А если такой раздел существует Английский для англоязычных, то тогда вся неадаптированная литература должна находиться в нем. А она находится вперемешку с адаптированной. Вот и все.

Конечно, я согласна с Вами, что иметь такую структуру было бы удобно, прежде всего для поиска нужной книги. И особенно согласна в том, что не нужно деления по издательствам (хотя оно и практикуется в этом разделе как самое легкое для классификации).Но - уже сейчас нередко любая книга - да любой файл - на английском языке предлагается в раздел Английский язык, так что уже принять решение о том, остается ли он в Английском языке, и в каком подразделе, или же это художественная литература, или же он относится к специальному разделу - а сколько их в Файлах - много! - уже принять это решение совсем не просто. И я считаю, что построение и поддержание структуры, какая есть, пусть даже иногда и приблизительная, я считаю, что уже эта структура - большое достижение, чуть ли не граничащее с чудом.А раздел English for Native Speakers возник скорее как сборище ошибок - эти файлы предлагались для изучения английского как иностранного языка. Никакие не предлагаю. Мало того, и от тех, что есть, предлагаю избавиться. Вот из каких соображений: Чтобы Вас не смущало название раздела, представьте, что Вы находитесь в разделе "Русский язык". Вы же не рискнули бы там смешивать материалы для второклашки, с материалами для второкурсника, правильно? Так же, не надо смешивать материалы для учителей, родителей, учеников с развлекательными и увеселительными. Второе: сортировка по издательству не нужна вовсе. Вы же понимаете, что издателей масса, а вот цель у всех одна одна. Выходит, что только носители могут читать книги англоязычных авторов такими, как их собственно авторы и написали. Остальным это никогда не дано. Они всю жизнь должны читать адаптированные непонятно кем величайшие произведения англоязычных авторов.
ТРЕТЬЕ:
Предлагаю разбить имеющуюся литературу всего данного раздела согласно единственно правильной стратегии: по назначению.

Webster’s Thesaurus Edition for PSAT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, GMAT, and AP English Test Preparation.Все приведенные Вами пять примеров - книги по английскому языку для англоязычных, 1 и 2 - для школьников (и их учителей и родителей), 3 - для студентов колледжей и университетов, 5 - для подготовки к вступительному экзамену в колледж, 4 - для всех заинтересованных в улучшении своего (родного или на уровне родного) английского языка. Так что эти все примеры показывают, что книги находятся в верном разделе.
Мои замечания касаются полнейшего беспорядка в этом разделе.

Чтобы Вас не смущало название раздела, представьте, что Вы находитесь в разделе "Русский язык".
Вы же не рискнули бы там смешивать материалы для второклашки, с материалами для второкурсника, правильно? Так же, не надо смешивать материалы для учителей, родителей, учеников с развлекательными и увеселительными.
Второе: сортировка по издательству не нужна вовсе. Вы же понимаете, что издателей масса, а вот цель у всех одна одна.
Предлагаю разделить раздел на вот такой основе:Preschool and kindergarten (ages 3 to 5)
Elementary school ( 5-11)
Secondary education (Middle school) (11-14)
High education (High school) (14-18)
-Electives
-Advanced courses
-Home schooling
Tertiary education (18+)
Vocational education (Ages vary)
Graduate education (Ages vary)
Adult education (Ages vary)
Education of students with special needs
Educating children with disabilities
For teachers
For parents
Иное деление в любом языковом разделе (включая и раздел русского языка, согласитесь) не имеет смысла.
